Rheem PROTECH vacuum relief valves feature true OEM performance. These valves are specifically designed for tank protection. The valves prevent the build up of negative pressure which can unbalance the system or damage the storage vessel. The vacuum relief valve is used on Rheem Marathon water heaters to help prevent the plastic composite tank from collapsing.
