The Defrost and Ambient Sensor Kit The Defrost and Ambient Sensor Kit for Residential Rheem gas furnace models include part numbers DEFROST CONTROL SENSOR MCM# AP1375-230 and part number AMBIENT HUMIDITY SENSOR MCM# AP1375-090. This kit is designed to monitor the ambient temperature in the condensing area of your Rheem gas furnace, which determines the defrost function of the furnace. – The Rheem Defrost and Ambient Sensor Kit allows you to mount your existing furnace’s defrost sensor on the outside air handler’s supply plenum. – This kit provides the tools needed to complete a repair by enabling customer to test the defrost control circuit as well as the ambient sensor.
