All mechanical uses no batteries or electricity. Activates when the Water Temp falls below 37F and regulates the release rate to keep water temperature at 37F. Once the water temp goes above 37F it shuts off. No more wrapping pipes or using faucet covers that only protect the faucet to a certain temp. The Freeze Miser protects the faucet and the supply line in the wall.
