The set includes two carving knives and two palm carving gouges. All have well-ground high-carbon steel blades that come fully honed, ready for use, while the ergonomically shaped ash handles permit a comfortable grip, helping prevent hand strain in extended use. The cutting and fine-point detail knives both measure about 6 1/2″, with 1 3/16″ blades hardened to Rc52-54. The #6 × 5/16″ palm gouge and 70° × 1/4″ parting gouge are both just over 5″ long, with handles designed to nest in the palm as you guide the blades (Rc55-58) with your fingertips, permitting superb control. Made in the USA by Flexcut, this is a well-made, versatile set of tools that both aspiring and experienced carvers will love.
