From the factory, your truck has a transmission cooler bypass so that when cold, the fluid bypasses the transmission cooler for faster warm up. Which is a great idea in theory. In reality, the bypass valve has been proven to be problematic causing leaks, and in almost all cases, the valve sticks in the bypass position. When this happens, the fluid bypasses the cooler and it is essentially eliminated from the loop.
