The WoodOwl Single Edge 3/8″ – 1-1/2″ diameter x 7-1/2″ long Nail Chipper Power Auger Bit are constructed of high-grade carbon steel with precision-ground cutting edges. And it is WoodOwl’s superior heat-treat and hardening process that ensures a perfectly concentric bit, all for precise cutting action and long bit life. Some of the benefits of WoodOwl Single-Edge Augers: Burr-free lead screw for easy starts and pull-through without material build-up. Ability to cut nails encountered in the work without damage to the cutting edges. Reduces nails to chips without grabbing and leaves a clean hole with minimal “blowout.” When the edges do become dull after long use, they are easily re-sharpened with the WoodOwl slim taper file. Tri-cut design with 3 precision ground edges for fast, smooth cutting without resistance. Safer and with less fatigue than other standard augers because the consistent hardening and concentricity along the length of the bit keeps it in line without forcing the operator to compensate for “walk”. Perfectly concentric design, which is guaranteed through the tightly-controlled heat-treat and hardening processes, means that the hole cut will be exactly true to the diameter of the bit. Tri-Cuts are up to 20% lighter weight than standard single spur augers, for safety and reduced fatigue without sacrificing strength.
