The Scandinavian Forest Axe, the Wildlife Hatchet and the Small Forest Axe are the three most popular axes made by Gransfors. The Gransfors Bruks Scandinavian Forest Axe is an excellent tool for felling and for limbing larger trees. The long handle and the relatively heavy head enable a very powerful stroke. The forests of Scandinavia feature many evergreens, and this axe’s thin, sharp, curved bit is particularly adapted to fresh, resinous pine and spruce. The Scandinavian Forest Axe is also a useful tool when building with logs. The 2 pound head (0.9 kg) has a 3.5 inch (9 cm) face and curved bit, and the handle is 25 inches (63 cm) of prime hickory.
